A good whiskey sour is a classic go-to cocktail on my list. We put a little of a twist on this version. A blackberry whiskey sour, the blackberry gives it the tang that the lemon usually does. It also gives the cocktail a nice purple tinge.
I order this when I don’t quite want an old-fashioned, but I also haven’t made up my mind what exactly I want. HA! Typical. I consider this a whiskey-heavy drink, meaning you can taste the spirit. So if whiskey isn’t your thing, I wouldn’t start with this drink as an introduction. Although it is less heavy than an old-fashioned – so there you go.
I usually have some type of fruit frozen in the freezer waiting to be made into something delicious. Mostly because I buy fruit and forget I have it and they are on the verge of getting bad so I pop them in the freezer! #winning So I used my frozen blackberries for this, but you can definitely use fresh ones if you got them.
This cocktail also calls for simple syrup which is equal parts sweetener and water. I used our go-to agave simple syrup. If you really want to add another dimension to the syrup, after you have removed from heat add in some rosemary sprigs. Then strain out the rosemary into the storage container.
Egg white drinks shouldn’t scare you. They should make you feel like your drinking a fancy cloud in liquid form. What a better time to be fancy than the holidays with this Blackberry Smash.Blackberry Smash
