Rose Gin Spritz to Manifest Those Summer Vibes

Overhead look of a Rose Gin Spritz with rose petals all over the table

Portland is the City of Roses so you know we had to be the heroine of our romantic blog post and make a Rose Gin Spritz for you! Cue swelling orchestral music now!

Roses are edible but you have to find the right kind.

Before consuming any plant or flower, do your research and check with a medical or plant professional. NOT EVERY FLOWER/PLANT IS EDIBLE – Don’t eat flowers if you are pregnant, have a pollen allergy, or floral allergy. You also should NEVER use pesticides or other chemicals on any part of any plant that produces blossoms you plan to eat.

Never harvest flowers growing by the roadside. Identify the flower exactly and eat only edible flowers and edible parts of those flowers.

Always remember to use flowers sparingly in your recipes due to the digestive complications that can occur with a large consumption rate. Most herb flowers have a taste that’s similar to the leaf, but spicier. The concept of using fresh edible flowers in cooking is not new.

Try growing your edible flowers.

Don’t want to poison yourself? I don’t blame you. Use this gin.

You don’t have to be a premier botanist to enjoy this recipe. We recommend that you use Glendalough Wild Rose Gin which is floral in flavor and has that beautiful rosy color.
This gin recommendation came from my wonderful friend from college, Erica. I should probably stop stealing ideas from her but she was also the inspiration for the Shirley Temple Ma’am. Sorry, Erica. Follow her on TikTok where she opens cute, surprise figurine packages.
